Don’t Waste LA


We’re proud to be part of this group
working to increase LA’s recycling and composting, while cleaning up a historically dirty and dangerous industry.  The City of Los Angeles has adopted a Zero Waste LA policy that will transform the our waste and recycling system, making it cheaper to recycle and compost and more expensive to throw things away.  Under the new system businesses will be required to donate edible food rather than throwing it away.

For the past fifteen years, Waste Not Want Not Now has been picking up food being thrown away by grocery stores and restaurants and delivering it to organizations that serve people who are homeless. WNWNnow coordinates over 700 volunteer hours per year and during the summer of 2017 recovered 10,000 pounds of Farmers Market produce.in […]
